Here is a new video that was released a few days ago by my friends from Acoustic Attack.
It was filmed on the roofs of Brest, my hometown, one sunny morning. Everything was blue and grey, silent yet you could hear the noise from the lively streets below. Quite a peculiar experience for someone like me who has always struggled with heights, but I would do it again now that I know I can !
Here is a brand new video of a brand new song of mine, it was recorded live in September 2017 at the Ateliers des Capucins (Brest).
We shot it all in one day and the whole crew and I had a lot of fun doing it. The two dancers are improvizing and reacting to the song for the first time and was
amazing to witness such a thrilling experience in such a magnificent location. I hope you guys enjoy the result !
I would like to thank Manu Richard, Axel Bouhier, Romain Souleyraux, Jean-Marie Guillerm, Jean-Baptiste Arnaud, Jimmy Costiou, Titouan Crozier, Iona Caron, Acoustic Attack, TAM Production, Focale Fixe, Anne Treutenaere and all those who made it possible !
This was recorded at Tebeo TV on February 8th, 2017.
The slide guitar I am playing was designed and created by Breton guitar maker Tom Marceau. When I met Tom a few years ago, he was no older than 24 and already making guitars for the likes of Lucky Peterson. His instruments never cease to amaze me and to this day, this resonator guiar is one of my most faithful companions. (here is a link to his website).
I wanted to share a few things with you before 2017 bursts in ! First of, I really want to thank everyone who's been supportive of my music, because 2016 has been a very busy year for me and I know I owe it to all of you.
Also, I'm proud to officially anounce my new partnership with the Brest/Rennes-based booking agency "Margoulins Productions" who is already doing a great job !
Finally, the brand new CALL ME MAX T SHIRTS are now available in the store !!!!!
Merry christmas and happy new year to youz all and I'll see you soon !
Such good vibes last night for the 50th anniversary of Le Vauban !
This concert venue is very special to me. I was 14 years old the first time I played there, since then I must have performed in the club about twenty times and still, I feel the same mix of nervousness and excitement everytime I walk on that stage...
It was a cold night of September in Brest. We had decided on the date of the filming a few days earlier and we were just hoping it wouldn't rain, which at this period of the year basically means hoping for a miracle. But things turned out to be just the way we needed them to be.
The team rapidly set up the lights, cameras and recording material and all of a sudden I was singing in this beautiful cocoon. Like most austere constructions for which Brest is quite notorious, it seems Square Wilson only needed to be seen in a new light...
Square Wilson has always been special to me. I remember I could never pass by it on a night out without making a halt to sing and enjoy the amazing reverb created by the slightly rounded concrete roof, so I would like to thank all those who helped me capture this moment : Manu Richard, Raphaëlle Artero, Grégoire Baños, Jean-Marie Guillerm, Emilie Lefèbvre & Sarah Lecuyer.
I spent a few days touring South West England in late August. I went there with my friend Glenn Nicolle and we went on a road-trip through the British countryside. We were passing by this small village lost up the hills when we decided to stop and have a look around... There it was, the most peaceful place you could ever imagine. We sat on a bench and listened to the spirits and the birds for a while. I think it was Glenn who said "they can truly rest in peace here".
